Building a battery hybrid vessel for the Offshore Wind Industry
Ulstein Verft has constructed the WINDEA JULES VERNE, its third Service Operation Vessel for shipowner Bernhard Schulte. Following her delivery in June 2020, the battery hybrid vessel will be working for GE Renewable Energy on the offshore wind farm Merkur Offshore in Germany.
All three vessels for Bernhard Schulte have been designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions AS, and they are all equipped with the Ulstein innovations X-BOW® and X-STERN.
The WINDEA JULES VERNE is equipped with a large, centrally positioned W2W motion compensated gangway & elevator tower for personnel and cargo transfers.
