The Service Operation Vessel WINDEA JULES VERNE has been tested over several days. On a sea trial, all systems are tuned and tested in the presence of the designer, yard and owner representatives, and the results duly noted and testified by certified controllers. The ship is now in her final construction phase.
The WINDEA JULES VERNE has been ordered by Bernhard Schulte Offshore, and will work on a long-term contract for GE Renewable Energy on the Merkur Offshore Wind Farm in Germany.
The vessel is of the SX195 design, which has a length of 93.4 metres and a beam of 18 metres, and holds accommodation for totally 120 people. Featuring the X-STERN® and X-BOW® solutions, the vessel can operate both ways in waves without experiencing slamming or wave-induced vibrations.
This is Bernhard Schulte's third offshore wind vessel from Ulstein, and Ulstein Verft's fifth offshore wind newbuild.
