The Norwegian Transparency Act

The Norwegian Transparency Act is a law that large Norwegian companies, and their subsidiaries in any country, must adhere to. The Act shall promote enterprises' respect for fundamental human rights and decent working conditions in connection with the production of goods and the provision of services.

Upon written request, any person has the right to information from an enterprise regarding how the company addresses actual and potential adverse impacts on fundamental human rights and decent working conditions that the company has either caused or contributed toward, or that are directly linked with the company’s operations, products or services via the supply chain or business partners.

Openheitslova skal fremje respekt for grunnleggande menneskerettar og anstendige arbeidsforhold, og stiller krav til openheit og innsyn i korleis verksemdene jobbar med dette.

Ein kvar har, ved skriftleg førespurnad, rett på informasjon frå ei verksemd om korleis denne handterer faktiske og potensielle negative konsekvensar for grunnleggande menneskerettar og anstendige arbeidsforhold som verksemda anten har forårsaka eller bidratt til, eller som er direkte knytta til verksemda si forretningsverksemd, produkt eller tenester gjennom leverandørkjeder eller forretningspartnarar.
