Jack-ups for WTIV and O&M
With the X-JACK heavy-lift jack-up designs we present our answer to the offshore wind industry’s need for fit-for-purpose, cost-efficient yet future-proof wind turbine installation vessels (WTIV). These designs are equally well-suited for the Operation & Maintenance (O&M) stage in the life of offshore wind farms.
Jack-up installation vessels use their legs to lift the vessel above sea level. Standing firmly on the seabed, the vessels operate safely without being impacted by the waves and currents. Their task is to install the various foundations and components of offshore wind farms. Our design driver is to significantly increase the efficiency compared to existing units in the market, both in the logistical layout and in the payload capacity, while being lighter. The combination of an innovative hull shape and vessel layout with well-proven jacking and crane technologies from reputable suppliers provides unrivalled heavy lift and cargo capabilities.
The ULSTEIN X-JACK-series is scalable and include four versions:
- J101, tailored for maintenance and exchange of wind turbines/nacelles;
- J102, sized for most optimal and cost effective installation of four (4) next generation wind turbines;
- J103, designed to carry and install six next generation wind turbines to realize even the world’s most remote wind farm locations.
- J104, is a fit-for-purpose design for offshore wind turbine installation and O&M operations.
