The fishing company Bluewild is expanding its fleet with a new factory trawler designed by Ulstein Design & Solutions AS. Gentle handling of the catch and the lowest possible energy consumption have been important elements in the design development. The trawler will be built at Westcon Yards.

ECOFIVE is a concept for fishing vessels where the goal is to utilise 100 per cent of the catch, minimise quality losses during handling and reduce energy consumption. The new trawler will primarily be used for shrimp and whitefish trawling. Ulstein has developed a battery hybrid propulsion solution that is expected to provide large reductions in diesel consumption and emissions.
