Our stakeholders trust in our professional competence and integrity. We support the ten principles of the UN Global Compact with respect to human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. We are committed to integrating these principles in our strategy, culture and day-to-day operations of our company.

The United Nations Global Compact works with companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universal principles in human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact guides and supports the global business community in advancing UN goals and values through responsible corporate practices. With more than 13,000 participants (companies and or non-business signatories) across 170 countries, the UN Global Compact it is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world (2021 numbers).

Ulstein is committed to working according to responsible, ethical and sound business principles, which are based on our visions and values set in our Code of Conduct as well as our policies regarding compliance and Corporate Social Responsibility. The contents of these policies are the foundation for our business and their purpose is to reflect and outline our vision and values and to function as a script to affect the attitudes and the culture within our company. We report annually on our sustainability efforts and progress.

Our Communication on Progress (COP) report documents what we do to implement the principles of the UN Global Compact.

UN GLOBAL COMPACT's 10 PRINCIPLES

HUMAN RIGHTS:

Businesses should:
- support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights
- make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses

LABOUR:

Businesses should:
- uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the rights to collective bargaining
- eliminate all forms of forced and compulsory labour
- effectively abolish child labour
- eliminate discrimination in respect of employment and occupation

ENVIRONMENT:

Businesses should:
- support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges
- undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility
- encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies

ANTI-CORRUPTION:

Businesses should:
-work against corruption in all forms, including extortion and bribery

In 2015, the UN member states agreed on 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We have assessed these goals to determine which of them matter most to our business and where we can make the most significant difference.
