Acta Marine's methanol-fuelled CSOVs

In 2022, Ulstein Design & Solutions AS signed a design contract on two methanol-fuelled CSOV vessels for Acta Marine, and a contract for two more followed in 2023. The vessels will be constructed at the Tersan yard. Follow the progress here.

The CSOV designs for Acta Marine are the first to introduce the ULSTEIN TWIN X-STERN. These Construction Service Operating Vessels are based on the ULSTEIN SX216 design. The vessels will be delivered with dual-fuel methanol/diesel power generators.

On 29 March 2023, the steel-cutting ceremony for the second next-generation Methanol MDO/HVO-powered DP2 Construction Service Operating Vessel for Acta Marine was completed at Tersan. The vessel is a TWIN X-STERN Construction Service Operation Vessel design from Ulstein.

We have been shortlisted

Ulstein has been nominated for two awards by the Offshore Support Journal, the 'Innovation of the Year Award' for the TWIN X-STERN® design, and the 'Offshore Renewables Award', together with Acta Marine, for the ULSTEIN SX216 project. The award winners were announced at the OSJ conference on 8 February.
