The Zhejiang yard, a part of the Sinopacific Group, delivered twelve ULSTEIN designed vessels to Deep Sea Supply during 2013 and 2014.

The vessels are constructed for operations all over the world. “We are very pleased with the vessels - and so are our clients”, stated Finn Amund Norbye, CEO in Deep Sea Supply. “ULSTEIN participated in the vessels' construction and was also responsible for the electrical installations. Communication and quality of work have been good. We have taken delivery of twelve large state-of-the-art platform supply vessels in approx. 18 months, which must be considered to be very satisfactory.” The X-BOW® hull line design eliminates slamming from head sea, increases comfort and safety and reduces fuel consumption.

In addition to the basic design, ULSTEIN delivered a comprehensive package of systems and equipment as well as on-site support. ULSTEIN’s equipment deliveries include diesel electric propulsion and engines, and the system deliveries include power distribution and propulsion, automation, internal communication and entertainment, navigation and radio. The vessels were among the first in which ULSTEIN had the switchboards produced at their own company in Ningbo, reducing delivery time due to shipment.

A SMOOTH SAIL ON HEAVY SEAS:
‘Sea Falcon’, the first out of twelve PX105 designed PSVs for Seatankers, started operational work from Q1 2013. Working in the Scottish sector of the North Sea, she has been through some harsh weather, but that doesn’t stop her from doing her duty.

‘Sea Falcon’ was delivered in February 2013, and is working on a five-year contract plus options for the American oil company Apache.
Her Captain comments that:
“We have experienced our share of bad weather. We’ve had no particular problems, everything is fine and she is very good in operation.”

Joey Daigle, who is general manager in the Deep Sea Supply Management office in Singapore, says that
“During my visit to these vessels and in talking with the Masters, they have statements like: ‘The vessel is extremely quiet when underway’, ‘minimal vibrations are felt in heavy seas’ and ‘this PSV design has a ride of luxury.’”

The vessels are 88.9 metres long and 19 metres in the beam and equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system. The cargo deck area is approximately 1,000 m2 and the vessels each have a dead weight of 4,500 tons. The deliveries from Ulstein include not only the design, but also an extensive equipment package, including all power distribution and electric propulsion systems, bridge and communication systems.

2017: All vessels in the DESS fleet were merged into the Solstad Farstad fleet. From 1 October 2018, this company changed named to Solstad Offshore.

2021: In June 2021, Solstad Offshore announced that the PSV Sea Falcon has been awarded an 18-month term contract plus a one-year option with a UK operator to support their assets in the UK North Sea. The commencement date of the contract will be during the 3rd quarter of 2021 and she will join her sister vessel Sea Forth working for the same operator.

2023: In January the Sea Falcon have change name to Normand Falcon. In March the ship was sold to Tidewater and change name to Falcon Tide.
