Ship history
Delivered on 15 May 2002. The vessel was ordered as a platform supply vessel, but during the ship construction there were several changes including a large crane, a moonpool, DP3 class and more equipment. Handling such major changes can be challenging, but the yard managed to deliver the vessel on the contracted date.
2016: 'Normand Mermaid' has served numerous clients, and is a versatile and efficient subsea intervention vessel. The vessel has been in Ocean Installer’s fleet since April 2013 and has been utilized for a large variety of offshore work tasks including dredging, umbilical lay, RFO operations and general subsea intervention work. By use of the mid-mounted moonpool, a module handling system (MHS) can be mobilized, or the moonpool can be used for deployment of umbilicals, test hoses and other equipment.
