Constructing the CLV 'Nexans Aurora'

On contracted time, 36 months after signing of the shipbuilding contract, Ulstein Verft delivered the Cable Laying Vessel 'Nexans Aurora' to Nexans. The vessel has been outfitted and prepared for power cable and umbilical laying included bundle laying, cable jointing and repair, cable system protection and trenching.

In June 2018, a shipbuilding agreement was signed between Nexans and Ulstein on a large, DP3, CLV vessel designed by Skipsteknisk. The hull construction started in February 2019. The 149.9 m long and 31 m wide ‘Nexans Aurora’ will be working in the offshore renewables market, installing subsea cables including cables connecting offshore wind farms to the grid and interconnector systems.
